Well, I'll answer my own question. Asked the D.O. yesterday if years of ibuprofen is out of my system and he said Yes. And my BP is much much lower.
I'm so glad to hear that. I saw a video the other day about forest bathing. Many people report lower blood pressure after doing this, so you might consider spending time in nature every day, if possible--preferably barefoot (for the grounding effect).
Thanks about the grounding, I have a gf who goes into her backyard and does the grounding. I don't seem to get out into nature like I did in my early life. I'm just so thrilled to be off the Nsaid...here is a situation where a doctor did me good, but he is a DO.

So again, this BP issue is making me nuts, trying not to make me nuts and this has been going on for probably 20 yrs. Along with the BP meds, I've added cayenne capsules and hawthorne extract.
Anyone else have a story on the high blood pressure crazy making.
Is this all normal and these MD's and meds making us more Nuts.
Seems you've been taking supplements for a long time to combat the issue and having little in the way of results as a consequence, i doubt taking cayanne capusules and hawthorn extract will make any difference.
Perhaps the contributing factors for your high blood pressure lie elsewhere. http://www.webmd.com/hypertension-hi...ressure-causes

I believe people tend to have a higher BP and then there are those with very low BP. How about genes. Both my parents took a little BP med as long as I can remember, they lived into 90's. And as people age, arteries narrow. When I was 40 and NOT into all the long long labs like today, my BP was 130/80. That was almost 40 yrs ago.
I take cayenne and hawthorne off and on for some yrs and I still go back to the Nsaid as being a major culprit as I've taken this drug for a long time.
I have a friend with Low BP and she has vertigo issues and heart issues. Every family member had heart issues.
So, lots of factors and GENES.
I'm just happy NOT to be spiking like I was taking Nsaids.
I used to fret about my HBP. Tried alternative means to get it down -- didn't work. Went on meds....Lisinopril/HCTZ. Felt better pretty fast. Headaches gone.
For a while, got obsessed with taking blood pressure at home. Got tired of that. Now I let my doctor worry about my blood pressure, which varies during the day and according to my stress level. But it's pretty normal most times.
Mostly I'm not stressed, do cardio daily, yoga sometimes. Learned to breathe deeply when feeling stressed instead of holding my breath.
When I get foot/leg cramps at night, I figure my mag/potassium are low from the HCTZ and take some supps and eat food rich in those minerals until no more cramps. Then I stop supps.
I think worrying too much about numbers (BP & cholesterol) is not healthy. Eat a diet like Michael Pollan recommends (Eat whole foods. Mostly vegetables. Not too much) is the wise way to go. Our society is over-thinking this..too many books/articles leads to confusion.
Normal weight and healthy eating, however you define it and that works for you, is key
IMHO when one's life is in balance, has a good support group and laughs on a regular basis-- THAT is the best medicine.
Relax, do some deep breathing, be in nature, call and visit with a dear friend -- that will relax all of you including your arteries.
Sinatra is a fraud and "grounding" is nonsense....keep these fairy tales in the alternative forum where they belong
First off, you are NOT a moderator and so you may NOT tell me what I can post where. The OP and I share many common interests in alternative medicine; that's why I posted here for *her* in this thread that *she* started about her own personal struggles with blood pressure (despite being on pharma meds, no less). Did you not see her thanking me for the information? Do you not get that it was valuable to her and it may be to other people? What is *wrong* with you? Why do you feel the need to patrol this forum in the way you do?
Secondly, you more than likely have absolutely NO proof that "Sinatra is a fraud" and "grounding is nonsense". If you do then you should post these *valid* sources of information (not quackwatch and nothing from that Gorski troll, thanks). Until then, your opinions remain just that--your *opinions*.
While walking around a forest maybe tranquil and relaxing its a poor way to treat a chronic high blood pressure disorder.
There are many ways to lower BP, from drugs to alternative therapies, foods, etc. Meditation is one and I know people don't walk around in a meditative state, although I wonder about some people. Grounding is just another protocol to work with.
