There are web sources that say there is but how does a person know how reliable that information is. People are always claiming something causes something else etc. Any reliable information on heart problems and sugar. That is if there is cause by sugar.

Every and anything can CAUSE any and everything. No one has FIRM answers, everyone is making their guesses. For me less sugar is best.

Any hypoglycemic will elevate blood sugar in most people so I'm told. Blood sugar not use can be stored as fat for a rainy day. We don't ordinarily endure famines in this country so we don't need to store fat to excess. I speak for myself only. Monitoring what I ate and how much along with beverage and the type and duration of any movement I learned to control BS and dropped off 60-70 lbs and have kept 55 off. From a .01 near a type II diabetic to an A1c of 5.3. Diet. Little exercise. Slow walking. Hot days took it to a mall. Simple. All the times trying to do it blind or this or that diet. Balony. I had to control BS and that was the key. My wife is a nurse and came home one day with all the tools to do the monitoring at home. High Sugar intake can be deceiving. Study the effects of white rice, white potatoes, and white bread... carb to sugar in a heart beat. I got the warning from an old doc years ago. Sugar can do more than ordinary damage. Pancreatitis is a painful way to die was his warning. Sugar and all other fast conversion carbs to excess is a threat to me. Not everyone with a better metabolism. We all can have different chemistry and react differently. No simple answers as one size fits all.

In my case I think it did. I had been off sugar for awhile and then slowly started to eat it again. I was fine until Xmas, when I just ate all I wanted with the resolve to stop after the holidays. I gained 10 lbs and my heart went crazy. Olive leaf extract cured it. Also, I limit my sugar severely these days.

I bet. We do such. Just the old recipe I was gifted with I think use the real stuff. Very little sugar enters my domain now. Not by choice though, necessity.

Excess sugar isn't good for anything. I've been down that nasty road early in my life and FINALLY woke up. Yesterday at bridge, I was trying to remind a lady who is dealing with cancer and on a 2nd or 3rd type drug, about sugar and to NOT indulge...she was mopping up on sweets....some people just don't get and I don't think doctors use any toughlove on their patients, just push the drugs.

Sugar addiction will absolutely ruin your health. I understand an indulgence every once in a while, but if it's a daily habit - get off it, asap.
