You might check your facts on calories in liquor. A shot of pretty much anything has ~60-70 calories in it.

It doesn't matter what we think but it does bring home thoughts of our own family issues. My former sil, drank "lite" beer probably drank 4 or so nightly too, starting at 4PM. He definitely had addictive issues and died young from lung cancer, cigs. Started his buzz at 4PM.

Thinking more about me and my loss of desire, since I had hip done, I'm so unstable that a buzz would be fearful for me and falling down. I drink a 1/2 glass once a month at bridge and mix it with Vitamin Revive drink and that's it. Wobble around with that.

28 beers weekly sounds like too much too me.

Still sounds like something Alcoholics say to justify their drinking. I don't really care who drinks what but don't try to pass it off like it's health food. If you drink 4 beers per night that is still 400-600 empty calories which is 25% or more of most people's daily required calories (especially people that sit around and drink every night who are probably sedentary)

Are you kidding? A shot of vodka has about 100 calories...that's a bit less than a light beer but 4 shots a night could contribute to weight gain for sure.

He might have problem, IMO. Problem being, he hasn't learned to appreciate wine.

He's got the quantity and frequency right, though.

I'd be very concerned.

About his choice in beer. Life's too short for light beers with little taste!

Reckon if someone constitute "normal" results on their liver function, they mean normal damage for consuming it on a daily basis. Sugar levels are impacted when alcohol is involved.

If this is so called "non damaging" then hospitals would use it in iv's. pretty sure there is good reasons they do not.

Op- at minimum , consumption in a brief amount of time will start to erode the digestive system, let alone the kidney/liver.

Anecdotes and opinions are what they are, nothing more.

What does moderate drinking mean?

What health problems are associated with excessive alcohol use?

Drinking levels defined

Dietary guidelines for alcohol

What's he like if he doesn't have his 4 beers? That will determine your answer.

I'd want to know why he wants 4 beers per night, especially if he's away from you all day.
