Have you been trying to boost your wellness? I have. Here are the top five things I'm doing:

--gym 3-4 times/week for cardio & weights

--increased my fruit and vegetable consumption

--cut out red meat (I have trouble digesting meat)

--make one meal a smoothie to reduce calories (and eat more fruits/vegetables)

--take supplements as needed to replace potassium/magnesium washed away by my blood pressure diuretic

What about you? Want to share??

I've started a new regime lately because I never really paid much attention to my diet. Here are my rules, so far:

No cookies or sweets
No French fries or potato chips
No burgers or hot dogs
No pizza or pasta
Eat breakfast
More fruit & veggies
More salads
Beef maybe twice a week, otherwise chicken or fish
Treadmill 5 days/week

We'll see how it goes, it sure can't hurt.

That sounds excellent! Is your new regime due to health concerns or you want to maintain your good health?

If you don't mind a tiny bit of advice, I'd add some core exercises (sit-ups/crunches) to your treadmill cardio. A strong core does a lot to prevent back issues. Our backs are so problematic due to design and too much sitting.

I'll make whole-wheat pasta once a month or so when I've just got to have pasta. I try to go easy on the cheese, though.

Weights and cardio 5x per week

My diet is about 70% fruits/veggies

Eat very little sugar, sweets are usually very dark chocolate

Lots of "me" time (read, hobbies, etc.)

Lots of goodies slipped into my regular diet: green drinks, kombucha drinks, flax, chia, matcha, wheat germ, etc.

Schedule allows for natural sleep patterns

lol. True. but I figured each of us already have enough of those already..but learning more good practices could benefit us all.

See, now we all know we need to eat more dark chocolate. Valuable information.

I forgot to add always learning new things. Learned to crochet (lol. that sounds so OLD!), sewing is next, learned a new computer program this weekend, gardening (epic fail), and DH and I are supposed to start learning Spanish together.

Have to exercise the brain.

No, just trying to be a bit healthier. I love junk food and I can easily fall into bad habits. At 64, I'm not sure I even HAVE a core anymore.

Getting adequate sleep.

Taking my medications and supplements.

Getting cardio and strength training.

Drinking the proper amount of water.

Working on being a vegetarian.

Working on more free time for myself to enjoy reading, doing various puzzles, play video games, etc.

Spend time out in nature with greenery, fresh air and sunshine!

Sorry I have seven.

Another one would be a spiritual source

and still another one would be serving others in some capacity.
