In spite of three BP meds my BP is just too high and I truly believe it's the years of ibuprofen I've been taking for OA pain and hip mess. After hip surgery and getting off the hard pain meds, I went to more dosing of Ibuprofen and now realize it's been keeping my BP elevated. The D.O. I'm seeing now for bodywork just about insisted I get off it and it's a week now I'm off and my BP is lower.

Does Ibuprofen Raise Blood Pressure

Talking to a friend who ended up with Afib believes it's mostly due to higher dosing of ibuprofen too.

Wish my high BP was due to that, but I don't take any.

Too much ibuprofen can hurt your kidneys...stop taking it! When you take it, it should be rarely, and for limited times! HBP can also hurt your kidneys.

Hubby just went on dialysis...you do NOT want that in your future....believe me.

Boy, I am so happy to be OFF this NSAID. I probably had more side effects than I ever knew. My daughter believes she had bleeding and/or anemia from taking this pain med too. And swelling of ankles.

Doesn't anyone read the side effects and interactions of stuff they put in their body?

Don't complain about the doctors before you look at yourself. (general, not personal statement)

My doctor told me to quit taking ibuprofen but my insurance wouldn't cover Celebrex, which is what she wanted me to switch to, and it was going to be $200/month. I kept taking ibuprofen because I can't manage without it, especially in the colder months when it can take me half an hour or more to put pants on when I wake up, because I'm just too stiff to bend over. Without the ibuprofen, the stiffness can last all day.

It doesn't seem to raise my blood pressure, and it actually seems to decrease my bleeding issues.

I've tried other NSAIDS and naproxen doesn't help me, but diclofenac does.

YES, I look at the side effects of the drugs, that's why I don't take any but my thyroid and BP meds. I just never thought ibuprofen could be so damaging. Even the BP meds have side effects but I work thru them.

I ended up in the ER back in the 80's from a pharma drug so I started to wake up after that ER trip with stomach ulcer. Celebrex comes with it's long list of possible side effects, and I could not afford that drug. Probably a good thing.

I'm stiff every morning and my back is stiff all day...but before I get out of bed I stretch for 15-20 minutes with stretches to get more limber to walk. At 7:30AM, I take 2 Pain-RX and 1/2 Arthritis Tylenol and that helps me to about 1:30PM. Then it's the Pain-RX again.

I've posted about the Pain-RX Cox 2 Inhibitor.

Why take half an Arthritis Tylenol? That's equal to a regular Tylenol. There is no other difference.

If you buy the generic you'll save a ton. There is no difference in the Arthritis Tylenol other than strength.

I would suggest a discussion with your dr. to see if he/she wishes you to continue with this if it is raising your BP.
