Hi, I am new here but I have a question. My primary doctor referred me to a pain management clinic so I
scheduled an appointment, however, early that morning I was having a flare up of my M.S. and also realized I was over booked for another appointment. I called the pain management and cancelled, I had never been there before and the girl who booked the appointment never mentioned anything about a cancellation fee. When the office finally returned my call the lady said there would be a $100.00 non-refundable fee or a $150.00 refundable fee for a rescheduled appointment. I told her that nothing had been told to me over the phone (also no paperwork by mail or email) and she said they had recently changed their policy. I could not believe my husband gave the credit card for the reschedule. I have recently looked online and others are saying they never received their $150.00 back and I am quite annoyed and concerned. This makes me have to go to this doctor at least once, but I would rather call my bank and take the amount off and go to another doctor. I simply could not believe her when I said to her that even though I had no knowledge of anything about the fee, she simply said that they changed. Is there anything I can do, like I said I have done some
research and really am concerned about this clinic. Sorry this is so long.

So you think they should be out the money when you cancelled at the last minute? What doctor doesn't charge for a last minute cancellation?

Stuff happens and last minute cancellations happen, but this seems to be SOP with doctors/providers. Some more $$$ than others. The D.O./D.C. I'm seeing now has lesser fees for cancellations. Time is scheduled for patients and we need to be there.

These fees weren't charged years ago, welcome to the New World.
