I am curious to find out opinions on getting prescription drugs in Mexico. A friend of mine went there to purchase multiple prescription drugs for literally a fraction of the cost here in the U.S. Thoughts? Experiences?

I've gone down there a couple times yrs ago and got a couple meds that may not have even needed a script. They were fine. No problem. At this point I rely on supps 95%.

I've never had any problems with meds from Mexico. They do have regulations in place so it's not like they are going to sell you "fake" prescriptions. After all, the Mexican people rely on them. Yes, the prices are much better than in the US.

our daughter did it once when we were on a cruise into Mexico: they ended up being old or something and did not work. If this happens, remember you have no recourse. I know it is tempting, but remember, there are risks involved. It is like using their dentists. Yes, they are a fraction of the cost, but the results can end up being a disaster. You have to judge for yourself. I hate what we pay for meds and we have a good program plus medicare. I still would not take a chance.

My daughter lived in Yuma Arizona for the past two years. Yuma is mostly populated by elderly Canadians (winter only). They generally all go across the border for cheaper prescriptions. No reports of any problems, in fact it was touted as one of the few benefits of living in Yuma.
