glasses arent expensive. You just need to shop around if out of pocket or check insurance for how much they cover.

Zenni has them as low as under $10. You just need your prescription info.

it's not that simple for those of us with unusual rx, bifocals or trifocals, etc. Believe me I have tried. Mature eyes need special care.

Lots of price gouging just like in many areas of life. I know many go to Costco.

And you actually believed him? LOL What did you expect him to say? He doesn't want you to find out you can buy glasses at more than 75% off online.

I go to the eye doctor for my prescription, then I order on ZenniOptical.com. A full prescription gives not only the requirement of the lenses, but how far apart your eyes are, etc. You upload that prescription to Zenni (or any number of online retailers), and you pick out your glasses. You can upload your photo and see the glasses on your face if you don't already know what you like. They have a ton of choices. And at the end, you choose the lens material, polarity, opaqueness, whether you want Transitions, and protected lens or not.

the last pair of glasses I bought at my eye doctor cost me $300. The last pair of glasses I bought at Zenni cost me $80.

Maybe you dont know how to use Zenni because my husband is almost legally blind and was able to order just fine from there.

Yes kudzu I agree with you.I can buy my eyeglasses in the same office I go to get my eyes checked and I found they are more reasonable . I receive my new prescription glasses within a week and if I run in any problems all I need to do is come in their office. But yes my prescription glasses are very expensive due to my prescription the lenses are thicker and need special fitting.

What I've done with the last change of scripts over 7 yrs ago was use my existing frames. I was not into spending all that money and my frames are fine. I wear driving/tv glasses and reading glasses.

I wear lineless bifocals and I get my off Zenni for less than $75. Much better than the $500+ I was quoted.
