I didn't get enough sleep several days ago and I am now trying to catch up. However, in spite of sleeping a good amount the last couple of decades, I nevertheless experience a feeling of frequent tiredness as well as a shortness of breath.

Anyway, what exactly could this be?

Heart problems, anemia, anxiety, coming down with a cold...see your doctor if it continues. It's too difficult to guess a cause.

Completely agreed in regards to seeing a doctor part!

Also, though, for the record, two days ago, I was so sleepy that I literally almost fell asleep while I was walking to my dad's car.

OK; understood.

Also, for the record, my oxygen percentage level (or whatever) is 98-99% and my heart beat rate (or whatever) is 74.

Indeed, my dad just measured both of these things for me a short while ago.

Could be anything from not so serious to very serious. Go see a doctor. If the treatment he puts you on doesn't cure your symptoms keep going back to the doctor. My late husband was overly tired all the time and sucking on inhalers to breathe. 20 days before he died, he was diagnosed with terminal cancer that his doctor should have caught earlier.

Sounds like general fatigue or stress..... Obviously, with oxygen levels like that, you're getting sufficient air.....and your heart rate is within normal range. Anxiety can cause this, too.

Agreed. I just went through a long bout of frequent illness with similar symptoms. Along with a recurrent GI problem. It landed me in the hospital a few times and they just couldn't figure it out. As it turned out, it was discovered the place I was living in was riddled with toxic mold. Nobody considered an environmental cause. No, diagnoses of any particular problem is far to complicated a subject to tackle on an internet discussion forum.

Perception vs something quantifiable.

I think you have a problem with the perception of illness that you don't bring to your doctor's attention.

What is your follow-up on previous issues?

See a doctor to be safe but it's possible you're just out of shape.
