I was curious about this. It kind of creeps me out - the thought of someone else's hands being on my body. Too personal.
I wanted to do a derm-abrasion on my face and signed up (unwittingly) for a facial. It was "wonderful" yes, but I'm just not comfortable at that level of intimacy with a stranger and a female but then I don't want a man putting his hands on me either. I just need my guy to step up to the plate.
I absolutely love getting a massage. I feel so relaxed afterwords. I have had both male and female therapists, no difference. I do choose a THERAPIST, not just someone who does massages. Most have been in a. Chiropractor's office (didn't see him, just the therapist).
My answer isn't one of the options, so I didn't vote. I love massages, but I can't afford them any more.
When I was working and making money I used to get a massage twice a month. Now they don't fit into my budget.
If someone gave you a gift certificate... or you came upon a windfall.... You should vote the "periodic splurge" category! (and start throwing hints about next year's Christmas presents!)
I would have issues with my muscles and lots of tension between my neck and shoulders. Someone trained well in reflexology and whatever other disciplines are needed to give a decent massage, can be very helpful.
Periodically could be once every 3 months or every 6 months, or even once a year or longer. Depending where you get them done, could be too costly.
Not too bad.........but I am a Dude, I cannot have a stinkloafish and ogreish Dude put hands on me, YUCK!
News flash! there are a lot of very attractive women who are quite competent at giving professional massages. (and I don't mean with a "happy ending" professional)
I have had about four or five massages. I find that the masseuses don't do a job that feels like a "most wonderful" massage should feel like. Kind of mechanical and they don't use their fingers or thumbs much because it's so very hard on the tendons. They use the heel of their hand most often. That just doesn't cut it in my books for the best feeling.
I think they often get Carpal tunnel if they try to do deep massages properly.
