How long until you catch the flu (flu shot, arms, symptoms)

Everyone at work has been sick around me (colds, strep, bronchitis) and I didn't get any of it. My husband has the flu. Sick since wed night, went to dr today (Saturday). I'm not feeling symptoms yet. How long till I know I'm in the clear? Last time he had the flu 4 years ago I only got cough....haven't really been bed ridden sick in 5 years....haven't had the flu that I know of since high school (in our 40's now).

I am 68 and haven't had the flu since my 40's. I worked in public schools holding little children with the flu in my arms touching my face with their dirty hands. Slept in the same bed with my husband with the flu. Been around my grown children and grandkids with the flu. Never caught it from any of them. Never had a flu shot in my life.

Some of us don't catch the flu even with up close and personal exposure to it. Maybe it will apply to you too,
