My husband says....Coppertone continuous spray spf/70. It provides broad spectrum protection from uva/ uvb rays. Buy Coppertone! He wants to keep his job. LOL....
Check out Environmental Working Group's page on sunscreens - it's at the bottom. This is a nonprofit organization that does studies on all kinds of products and releases it to the public. This is their Sunscreen homepage. There is a way to enter your sunscreen and it will pull up it's "danger rating."
I also don't think the SPFs that are higher than 30 really do that much better. It is better to just reapply. I'm not saying don't use them, but take the time to reapply.
A few years ago, remember reading in the Alive mags that some scientists felt that the combination of sunscreen and sun may contribute to causing skin cancer.
Hadn't heard much on the subject since, but it made sense, especially when you see what's in the ingredients of the sunscreen itself.
Since then, I've tried to stay away from them, just picking the less intense times to be in the sun. Getting a good base, a little at a time, during the better times to be in the sun, is better protection, IMO.
