A friend sent me an article today from AARP, New Hope for Aging Knees.

Looking for it online, I found this one. I'll put it here as I want to read it more too.

Treatments for Aging Knees

Stem Cells are mentioned and I've been hearing Dr. Darrow here talk about and do this work for some yrs now. They are costly, our insurance carriers NEED to get on this.

don't even think of stem cell if your problem is due to aging. I have 2 friends, one who is very unlikely to fall for any gimmicks but she did. After hearing about stem cell,, she made the appointment to be evaluated. they said she was a perfect candidate. $4,500 later she is no better and the clinic admitted it didn't work. We have another friend with the same story. Our sil had it done, it was very successful but he was about 50 at the time. No, if you are aging you better think along time before spending your money and don't expect Medicare to cover any experimental treatments. they shouldn't in my opinion.

Thanks...and with every passing year our knees are aging. Old age catches up with most of us if we live long enough.

On another subject on stem cells, my sister's doctors kept her hanging with hope for them and it never happened...perhaps they knew the MS she lived with was too far gone, she is gone now at 68. Not all doctors tell the truths.
