And would it be harmful? I eat a salad most days & also a piece of fruit as well as veg at diiner. I drink sugar free tang, & Ocean spray cran lemonade, both around 5 cals a bottle/glass & both claim to have 100% vitamin C.
So, two glasses plus a good diet is alot of vit c????

For adults, the recommended dietary reference intake for vitamin C is 65 to 90 milligrams (mg) a day, and the upper limit is 2,000 mg a day. Although too much dietary vitamin C is unlikely to be harmful, megadoses of vitamin C supplements may cause:
•Diarrhea
•Nausea
•Vomiting
•Heartburn
•Abdominal bloating and cramps
•Headache
•Insomnia
•Kidney stones
Remember, for most people, a healthy diet provides an adequate amount of vitamin C.
OP, I doubt that you are getting too much Vit C. I eat fresh oranges when I can get good navels but I do take close to 2K vit C caps daily. I handle this amount fine.

It's a water soluable vitamin. The body does not store it. We must replenish it daily. Highly unlikely you'll be harmed from taking a little too much.
Only concern I heard about VC is for endurance athletes and free radicals. I know I had a cold so I took 2 VC pills daily for a week. I mean could of been related, but my muscles weren't recovering quick enough after workouts. So could hold true.
Many vitamins will be excreted thru your urine, if you take too much....but there are SOME vitamins that can build up in your body, so you have to watch those!
If you eat a somewhat healthy diet (fruits, veggies etc..), you are getting the vitamins you need without supplements.
Maybe, but you would have to really work at it. Vit C is a water soluble vitamin that will wash right out. Practically speaking there is no "maximum" dose.
I take 2000mg at a time to ward off incipient bladder infections, which I used to get all the time. I do this for about 2 weeks for a full blown infection, but only a few days when warding one off right at the start. Before my doctor told me to do this I got them regularly several times a year. Since then I've had one probably less than a half dozen times in the last 30 years.
So - I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan to start snarfing down Vit C supplements like popcorn.
I take higher doses of C daily and also another powerful antioxidant for many yrs and do not get bladder infections...can't remember when I last had one...maybe 30-40 yrs ago.
