I ask this because we are in the tropics, and are advised to use a disinfecting wash on our produce. It is for bacterial/parasite issues.
DH and I have an argument every time we make pizza, as he says the cooking will kill anything that might be on the vegetables on top---bell peppers, onions, asparagus, mushrooms, etc.
I know pizza gets roaring hot, but mainly the cheese. I've often had barely warm veg's on a just-cooked pizza. I don't think the veg's are getting thoroughly cooked, not like when you boil or steam them.
Can anyone settle this argument for me? For some reason he doesn't want to use the wash, even though it is "non-toxic", LOL. Only if eating stuff raw....
