I used to love raw ground beef when I was a kid; wouldn't eat it now, but fresh, high quality raw beef is still eaten as steak tartare.

Super fresh, "sushi quality" fish can be eaten raw (though not by me, don't like it).

Poultry should be cooked completely to something like 160 to 180 degrees F. Don't even consider raw chicken.

I don't think I've heard of people eating raw shrimp. Sounds gross.

That would fall under the category of "bait"

My grandson has been a very picky eater, and finally with the social life he now has he's loving some sushi. His buds go to sushi bars. His mom and sister eat it as do I for many yrs.

These foods are NOT gross to many as we all have our tastes and likes and dislikes.

Raw shrimp is delicious. But it needs to come from a reputable sushi restaurant. I have eaten it many times without a problem.
First rule of selecting a sushi restaurant - make sure it is busy. Its got to be a popular place that you usually have to wait to sit down.
And never, ever, ever go to a sushi place that has discounted sushi for any reason.

You're asking to die eating raw chicken surely? The other meats aren't as riddled with harmful bacteria but I still wouldn't consider it. When I cook chicken, I prefer to overcook it, just to be on the safe side.

Who is saying they are eating raw chicken. I'm getting away from chicken lately, tired of it...but when I do buy some to cook it's grass fed or organic chicken.

What exactly is so bad about raw chicken? It's funny how those seemingly 'cute' animals are apparently more deadly compared to raw steak from cows/goats

Are you sure that you aren't doing this simply for the shock factor?

Educate yourself regarding raw poultry which is evidently more dangerous to eat raw than some other meats and fish.

You are joking right? I hope your medical insurance is paid up because if you start eating raw chicken you will be spending some time in the hospital.
