I'm asking because i took four 200mg pain pills from CVS and 2 hours later i had facial swelling. That never happened when i took 4 pills from Rite Aid and was wondering are the pain pills different between the two stores? The only reason i went to CVS is because it was closer to the bus and my arthritis pain was bad that morning. After this experience i dont want to buy anything out of CVS.

The inactive ingredients (binding materials, dyes, preservatives, and flavoring agents) may be different so that may be the cause. Check the labels of both to read the list of inactive ingredients.

The active ingredient, ibuprofen, will be the same in both pills. The inactive ingredients will vary. Mr Geek is right, you probably reacted to an inactive ingredient.

You can buy DYE FREE ibuprofen. These are White tablets. I do when I feel like spending a little extra money. Yes it costs more to add LESS to drugs. Like it costs more to add no gluten to foods than to buy gluten laden foods. Same concept.

Here is a really good deal on dye free ibuprofen.

One of the side effects of hypertension is facial swelling. You took the maximum dosage for ibuprofen which can lead to elevated hypertension.

I don't think anyone should take 4 pills at one time!
