I saw my MD for my annual check in and I swear she spent more time on computer than with me. I left with instructions on accessing portal and tried but it didn't work for me. I still will request a hard copy of my labs. While I was in hospitals and rehabs she had about an inch of papers sent to her by the hospital docs. I wonder how much she really read. She's a one woman integrative MD and her overhead has got to be a biggie in her practice. Her lab nurse has been with her 18 yrs...and a couple other nurses and front office and high price rent. Yikes...
Both my RA doc and lab have portals that work well.

Well I do live in a small town, but the affiliation of my doctors are quite large, Novant Health and a large hospital encompassing other medical facilities. So I don't know, guess I will have to ask for my lab results, and I had to call to confirm an appt coming up and another one in December, those appts are not listed on my patient portal.
Maybe you should check with the medical facility and make sure everything is working.
Ours work well, even our dentists have them now. Sometimes I need to call or email the office if labs are slow to post but usually they are fairly quick to get updated and current info posted.
That's true what you've seen. Since they charge insurance on schedule, that's how they perform their activity on your profile. We signed in for my husband, and it's some serious business from that medical personnel. The patient is their cash cow with insurance and yearly deductible reaches sooner than you can "control" it.

What?

ours work very well. I like the idea of just going to the portal. What cracks me up is when: your appointment remainder is on the portal, you get a whole call reminding you on your landline if you still have one andthen another reminder on your cell phone.

And one via email!
I turned the cell notification off after about a zillion of them which included 2 or 3 after every appointment.
