For the past few days i've had the cold from hell, seems to be focused on the upper respiratory system , lot of nasal blocking and a lot of coughing to the point my guts ache, sleeping is also compromised as i wear a CPAP to sleep and it doesnt work too well with a blocked up nose. and to top it off constant headache
I guess my only option is to wait till it passes,in the mean time its hot water with lemon/honey and ginger.

jambo, have you ever tried a sinus rinse? It definitely helps with nasal clogging. I don't like neti pot, I prefer the rinse bottles, I use Xlear (Xylitol is added to the saline) but many like the NeilMed.

Some times I get a bit stuffy when I'm going to bed and rub Vicks Salve on my lips and under my nose. Makes a nice difference.

I'm hearing a lot of colds going on, and my only response too bad, MORE and MORE don't take pycnogenol or grape seed ex or resveratrol to keep their immune systems healthy.

I also swear by Peppermint Tea. Seems to work really well to help clear you up. It is also an anti-inflammatory, so with help with your stomach. And it tastes good.

Another vote for the sinus rinse. Helps a lot.

Well, it's been about 4 yrs since I got a cold or other respiratory illness, and I have never taken any of those supplements you tout endlessly. Guess I am lucky, but I count on frequent handwashing, good diet, regular exercise and enough sleep (and I need no supplements to get a good night's sleep), to keep my immune system in good germ fighting order.

Not as much time as I used to, and that is a factor for sure. Although I have never gotten a lot of colds, even when I did spend more time around lots of people.
