2 weeks ago I was doing bent over T bar rows in the gym.
The next day I was home bending down to pick up a piece of paper and BAM!, I was hit with the most painful feeling in my lower right back.
I went to a chiropractor who took some Xrays and said he couldn't see anything but going by my symptoms, it appears I've 'injured' my sciatic nerve. He gave me an adjustment, showed me some stretches and sent me on my way.
That was a week ago. I went yesterday again and he adjusted me again and showed me more exercises.
Today when I woke up the pain was the absolute worst it's ever been.
It starts in my lower back---not the buttocks---and goes halfway down the FRONT--not the back of my right leg.
I can barely walk.
Any idea whats going on before I go to the emergency room.
I have no health insurance, so my choices are limited.
But im gonna have to bite the bullet and go to the ER on Monday.
Ibuprofin 800 4 times a day and Aleve as well as Doans has done NOTHING for me.
Please help this long time member get thru this.
Thanks a bunch in advance.

Sounds like your sciatic nerve, hot baths, ibuprofen and not sitting on the sore side will help, shift your weight to the other side, even when your laying down.
When I had mine I did exactly what the doc said, which is what I posted. There isn't any quick fix, it takes time to heal and if you go in and they tell you the same thing, you will get a nice size bill from the ER.
The ER is unlikely to give you an epidural steroid shot, they'll just refer you to your family doctor or an orthopedic doc. Save yourself the huge bill. Get some Epsom Salts (milk carton size). Put 1/4 of it in a bath tub of water as hot as you can stand. Soak until cool. Repeat as needed. If no tub, run the water in the sink to as hot as you can stand, and add maybe 1/4 cup to it (depends on sink size). Soak a hand towel or dish towel in it, wring out some of the water, and lie down with the towel on the bad part. It won't last forever but each time you get better for longer.
A friend's husband who was in the Canadian football league told me this trick and it really helped me. I eventually had surgery.
Thanks for the tip.
Im going to give it a shot.
SOMETHING has to work.
