Basically, this morning, I didn't realize that my soup was extremely hot until it was too late and thus swallowed one huge spoonful of it before drinking some water and taking a long break so that the rest of my soup could cool down.
Afterwards--indeed, up to right now--I feel a little bit of pain in my throat, esophagus, and stomach. However, I can still swallow more-or-less normally.
You are most likely fine. Perhaps you burned a little bit your mouth, maybe got some inflammation of the larynx and vocal cords , but if you can swallow your saliva and drink/eat other food, there is no permanent damage from one spoon of hot liquid. Just temporary discomfort.
You can try to alleviate the painful symptoms and speed up the healing process by following a few simple self-care steps at home: avoid hot, sharp and spicy food, drink cool liquids, have cold yogurt or ice cream.
Hope you feel better soon.
As long as you can breathe and swallow, no. You definitely burned yourself and if it happened this morning and you can still breathe and swallow, then you're OK, but you're still a little burned. You could take an OTC anti-inflammatory and be aware of what you eat. Nothing acidic. A little extra mucus or urge to cough would make sense, too, since burns weep. It's just healing and how long it lasts depends on how burned you are. Hopefully not too badly.
In future, here is a literal rule of thumb. You can eat or drink anything that is cool enough that you can touch it for a full second with your fingers' Your mouth is more tolerant of heat than your fingers, so if in doubt, just touch it.
