I started a series of a 6-week iron therapy yesterday. It is a 30-minute drip IV. I feel sick and tired today. Is that normal? How long does it take for my levels to increase? I think the doctor said my levels are 9.

I also do infusions. My ferritin started at 2. 😱. Levels increase based on a multitude of factors, such as why you’re anemic, the type on iron being used and frequency of treatment. My infusions take about an hour. At first I went 2x per well for 6 weeks and then they became more staggered. After 18 months, I’m now once every three months.

Normally, I feel just fine day of and after. I’ve never felt unwell from treatment.
