I have problems with incontinence and at time it causes me to have to get up several times a night. This interferes with my sleep. Also have trouble holding my kidneys until I get to the bathroom. Is there anything that will help me. Sometimes it is worse than others. I am looking for something instead of going to the Dr. who uses a catheter and seems to stretch me and make matters worse.

As a woman I believe the Kegel exercise is the best but I believe you are male, right? There are many supplements one can try, and I'd try them for a couple months at least. I'm trying one now, and I get up often during the night at 82, and I know I'm not alone. There could even be homeopathic remedies for this issue. I choose no drugs so I keep researching for something that could work too. But I don't mind getting up anymore, accustomed to it, keeps my stiff joints moving more even when I go to sleep...always looking for some good in all we deal with. And don't drink a lot of liquids after 6PM or so, some is necessary thou.

You should have the doctor check your prostate... after all, this was posted under "MALE incontinence".....only a Dr. will be able to help you with this.

OP: Here is some good reading for both male/female urinary issues:

https://myconfidentlife.com/blog/sup...r-incontinence

Nothing against seeing a doctor but in my life I try to do most of my own healing/management of health issues. I know there are pharma drugs they can prescribe too and if that's what you want then they are available....

We're giving you ideas, and doctors do prescribe meds for incontenence. Otherwise check out supplements, begin to work with some for yourself, or ask a doc for meds...We are NOT doctors here...

OP - I don't know the source of your issue but you should know that Kegel's aren't just for women! Women more often have these issues so you hear about it for them, but men can also benefit - and I'm sure jamin would approve of any non-prescription, non-surgical, or traditional treatment:

Well good to know for males too re: Kegel...I didn't even go there and only thought of the female doing the Kegel which I'm doing right now.

Go to a urologist, asap. Don’t know your age or circumstance, no one on this forum can possibly advise you.

My husband, at 56-57 years old, had symptoms including frequent urgent urination. He had bladder cancer. He no longer has a bladder. Not saying this is you, I’m not a doctor.

Go see a urologist.
