The odor from our tempurpedic mattress was so bad that we wound up closing off our bedroom, opening the windows and walking on the mattress several times a day for about a month to help release the odor. It burned our eyes.

Then it went away and we love it. Of course the month taking turns on guest beds and the sofa was a PITA.

I had a problem with sweat building up between me and the mattress, ended up buying a special mattress cover which solved the problem..

My doctor has treated me for poison ivy and mites but after everything and all the hell I went through, it seems that my memory foam mattress topper has caused all of my allergic reactions. My mattress cover ( A very good one) didn't help the problem. There was no warning with the product whatsoever.

I purchased a memory foam topper from topper 5 years ago. It is true that you sleep very well because of the topper and the odors of very strong in the first two weeks. The problem I am troubled with now is that my wife developed kidney cancer that started on her right side and that is the side that she slept on and I was just diagnosed with the same cancer on my left side which is the side I sleep on. It took the life of my wife 3 years ago and it will probably take the life of me soon. Just wandering that sleeping on the side that is so close to the kidney somehow the chemicals got absored through the skin and into the kidney. I will be getting rid of this topper right away.

I have severe allergies and love my Serta IQ Memory Foam mattress. 5 years and still going strong with no smells.
If you don't change then get a, allergy mattress cover.
