I have a lot of dietary issues due to wonky gut, never had any problems before age 46.

Have you seen the latest about alcohol? Study says that people who drink NO alcohol die sooner than people who drink moderately. In fact the "no alcohol" people and the "alcoholic" people were in almost the same boat. They just don't know how much is exactly the right amount to drink. haha.

I think it's genetic: food and good health.
My great grandfather drank, smoked cigars and who knows what else because he was quite the hellion even into adulthood.
He ate farm food, bacon eggs, potatoes, bread, jelly, ketchup. But homemade meals, not pre-packaged chemical crap.
Lived to mid-90's. Most of his children made it to mid-80's and his grandchildren are dying mid-70's to 80's.

But what I say, instead of "Moderation is Key," is "The Dose Makes The Poison."

Even things like water or lettuce could cause problems if you have enough of it.
