It was done all the time by mothers when I was a child in the Fories, but I too am blown away by CD posts at times. The raging hysteria that is so prevalent, and the paranoia must have a truly insidious effect on small children.
I see no hysteria in having an 8 year old diagnosed and treated by a professional. Speaking for myself, I would never assume that my child has worms and attempt Home treatment. I don’t even self-treat my dogs. 🤷*♀️
Any over the counter medication that you would suggest to deworm my 8 yr old son? Please suggest. Thanx in advance.
Ask your pharmacist which OTC brand he/she recommends.

Yes, and it's still done that way. Most doctors would say get an OTC ... only come in if that doesn't work.

The hysteria really is comical. I remember my mother saying all of us (brothers and sisters) had worms as kids. I suppose that is shocking to people that never played outside.
I recommend that the OP consult her pediatrician but many people are easily treated without going to a doctor.
Also, this is the 'health and wellness' forum. I think everyone knows that they should consult a physician for most healthcare decisions. I thought this forum was for thoughtful discussion but the attacks on many posters are absolutely ridiculous.
