For 2-3 days now I've been getting periodically slight sharp pains right over the heart. Comes and goes within a second or two. May get a few in a row then nothing for some time. I feel fine and have no symptoms I can elaborate on except for what I've explained here. I have no history of heart issues and nearly 60 yoa. No high BP either.
If no other symptoms are there is something to be concerned about?
I would have already called my doctor by now. However, I would bet that most doctors would say if you are currently experiencing chest pain, go to the ER.

I had no history of cardiac issues when I had my first heart attack (or as the cardiologist called it, "a practice one") after a couple days of off and on sharp pains.
Last year my wife went for a pre-op exam for a back surgery....Doctor looked at the EKG and said "when did you have your heart attack?".... She had no symptoms at all. She got a triple bypass a few days later.... she was 50 at the time.
Neighborhood girl who used to live two doors over....In April she and her husband went out on a Friday night, they got home, said good night, and that was the last thing she said to her husband...She was only 50.....

This.
I had a neighbor who had chest pain...instead of going to the ER he made a dr appt...
You won't be waiting at the ER. When you tell the desk you have chest pains, they will slap an EKG on you before they know who you are or what insurance you have! I went to the ER at my kids' urging because I was having trouble breathing. Didn't ask questions, took me to a room and hooked me up. All the other registration stuff came later. Turns out I had a clot in my lung but it dissolved before they could get the scanner set up (had the breakdown products in my blood).
Damn. Now you all have me concerned. Everything feels good but this occasional minor pain that is pretty spaced out. But yeah, maybe I'll get going.
I wasn't going to go in to the ER either. Finally changed my mind at my wifes urging. Coded in the ER and they brought me back. I still think the world of those people.
