those hand wax things, i forget name, where you melt wax and put hand in, let it harden then peel off, it might help too, but dont sleep overnight with it

try switching out your soaps at home? some soaps dry out the skin when you wash hands, coconut milk soap seems softer to me but it is probably hype and the good smell. soaps are generally basic ph, so they strip the oils out of your skin as part of cleaning process
I have an electric paraffin wax bath to use when wrist joints bother me during the coldest part of the winter. I seldom use it, though, in part because it requires so much countertop space, and also because it's relief is so temporary. It feels heavenly while it lasts, though.

Neither of us has eczema, but we get dry hands during the winter or after some chores. My favorite of the heavy duty therapeutic creams/lotions for dry skin that our dermatologist recommends is Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. It's a wonderful product and is fragrance-free.

For everyday I like Aveeno daily moisturizing lotion, fragrance-free.

For a skin protectant, not so much for hands, I also like Aquaphor Healing Ointment, advanced therapy. If I were to use it on hands, I would be sure to use cotton gloves.

Aquaphor healing ointment works best for me during winter when skin is the driest.

Vaseline is also very good.

The key is to keep on top of it and ensure you use some type of ointment often during the day, and especially on your hands before you go to bed.

I have dry skin on my hands and it is made worse by the wrist splints I have to wear at night, rubbing. About every third night, I apply creamy petroleum jelly liberally, put on vinyl exam (food handling) gloves with the fingers mostly cut off, under the splints. The skin stays moist all night. You may need to do it every night until they heal.

I also try to reapply a heavy cream often during the day, esp. after hand washing.

I would use neosporin for the cracks and cuts. It'll help heal them. Also might want to try vitamin A & D creme on them. Like what mom's use for diaper rash.

Do not use hand sanitizers or anything drying. Put coconut oil on it

I dealt with the same issue for three years. I saw 6 different dermatologists and allergists during that time, trying lots of various prescriptions. What finally put an end to it for me was Vaniply ointment at night, and Vanicream during the day. Both are available on Amazon, for a better price than at the pharmacy. Good luck, it's frustrating as well as painful.

Those hand sanitizers are the worst and I never got sucked into them, never let myself get sucked in, it's been a big new industry $$$. And yes coconut oil internally too.

Agree, Vasoline is not a good choice. It doesn't penetrate much, anyway.

Try organic lotions like coconut, aloe, etc.

Don't use alcohol based hand sanitizers.

Drink lots of filtered water.
