Damn....I dunno, John....poor thing. MS is no fun. So sorry.
I wonder if pumping fluids through her system would help her kidneys recover? So sad.

Long term outcomes may include kidney failure and brain damage. Toxicity and death may occur after drinking even a small amount. Coma is not a good sign.
Dialysis or organ transplant would more than likely be needed to aid in recovery.

Everyone processes information differently...denial is there to protect us until we can emotionally handle the sad situation. The physician is responsible for talking to the family and being honest about the outcome.

Oh lordy what an awful thing to do to yourself. She could just linger for a few months and then die. Or she could live in a vegetative state for a long time. I very much doubt that she will ever be normal again. I would know better if I could see her. I dealt with end of life patients my last almost ten years in health care. You develop a pretty good insight into who's going to make it and who isn't.
