Ok, 1stly I drank plastic jugs of white Kings Muscatel when younger in late 60s as a small kid (when lived w/ great aunt from Lithuania & she & her lady friend used to babysit me all day when mom & dad worked). Then in late 90s in my 30s, when moved to AZ I found cheap jugs of Mountain Cellars red, then sold in Walgreens out here.

Does anyone recall either company or brand? An internet search comes up w/ nothing really that I see substantial on either, let alone in any detail , that I could eval or even recognise these wines again.

No way I can find them as have asked Totalwine stores, BevMo, etc. & no one has a clue. Maybe I'm getting old over 50 so that is it.

From what little I've read about it the cardiovascular benefits of white and red wine are not that different. The benefit seems to come from compounds in the grape skin...all grapes obviously have skin. I also doubt the brand of wine matters very much. You'd probably have to drink gallons every day for years to notice a difference. But if you did that, you'd have OTHER problems!

There are plenty of inexpensive wines that you may enjoy. They all pretty much taste the same at that low of a price point.
Find a Trader Joes and buy the Charles Shaw brand - otherwise known as Two Buck Chuck.
