it's not the binge eating disorder but I am addicted to salty potato chips that I shouldn't even be eating in the first place since it increase my blood pressure (genetic) and this does more damage to my kidneys (at least kidney disease stage 4). Lay's Original is my favorite potatoe chips. They have less salty ones but I don't like those. The lowest salty potato chips I ever tasted are Utz No Salt added Original but they aren't as good as the Lay's Original ones, and I'm sure it has something to do with the lack of salt.
You have to find a food you like more than salty potato chips, so that way you'll eat the new favorite food instead, or at least half of your appetite can go to the new favorite food and the other half can go to salty potato chips so you'll reduce your salty potato chip intake by 50%.
I have an addiction to potato chips too - I just don't buy large bags anymore. I will on occasion just buy a normal size bag, but again, just do not buy bags to keep in the house! That is the only way to help stop the craving.
You have to internalize the idea of "I don't eat potato chips." Pretend like they don't exist. Maybe at some point you'll be able to eat a small amount as a treat, but if you're eating so many chips that they're affecting your blood pressure and kidneys, you gotta reprogram yourself and go cold turkey first.

I had my local grocery stock Lay's unsalted. I would eat chips from the bag which looks very much like the bag of regular Lay's whenever I wanted, as much as I wanted. Eventually I quit wanting them.
I did not eat chips for years. Now I get a small bag maybe once or twice a year and I am satisfied.
This is true, I've been thru the potato chip snacking and KNOW that besides them being potato which I don't really eat and then the higher salt, I just STOP buying them. I'm been off this salty habit for over 3 months now.
I'm on a pretzel kick now and know the same goes here...
