At Dr's office BP was 132/63.He read it twice.I will add that at 7am I took 40mg Lisn be cause of 160 reading. He asked me to go back to 40mg Lisn.
Now today 3/14 lightheaded with 137/63 pulse 62.This after breakfast. At this point might try 20mg again, next appointment 4/5.A real hassle.
You can buy a $6.00 pill cutter and cut your 40mg Lisinopril tablets in half.....and easily switch back and forth between 20mg and 40mg of Lisinopril.

Order a pill cutter at amazon.com (or buy at a drugstore)

And if you do not have one already, buy an inexpensive blood pressure cuff and take your own blood pressure several times per week or even every day if you'd like, for a while.

I have had pill cutter for years,as for Bp log,I have recorded it every day morning, noon and evening, week before appointment,he has extensive log.My Bp machine is Omron Intelli Sense also been using for years and checked out by doctors over the years.
Did have funny incident one time, wife and I have white coat.I went to Cardioligist and had Bp 170/60 and same day had appointment with Primary Care for wife and I she had BP of 170 and Dr. checked mine at 170.
Right now at 5pm 3/15 BP 120/60 Dizzy Light Headed with 40mg Lisn whereas 20mg Lisn did not cause this.
Do you take your Lisn. am or pm,doctor has me am.???

DanBev, you asked when I take the blood pressure pills - I have taken them at night right before bed for 37 years. (Metoprolol and Lisinopril)

I would NOT take them in the morning. Like you are experiencing, much more chance of being dizzy if taken in the morning.

I could never tolerate a water pill the couple times I tried it very very briefly 25 years ago. Turns out it hasn't even been needed for 25 years.

After I retired 8 years ago, I was able to cut my dose of Metoprolol and Lisinopril in half due to being calmer due to no longer working a job!
