That's a Champion 59 Series. While I can't claim to be an expert, I have seen enough of them recliners to know they are more beneficial than hurtful. The one link I can establish between the lower back pain and dialysis is probably the extended hours of being immobile.

The Sciatica cushion was a good idea, as research has found them to be quite effective in reducing lower back pain and increasing comfort, and not just for individuals experiencing this kind of pain. See http://ergonomictrends.com/best-ergo...for-back-pain/

If you have an office chair you regularly use, the lumbar support could come in handy too.

Have you tried any dialytic exercises? I'd encourage you to engage in a few every so once in a while when you can. This resource has some simple stretches and the only equipment you need in some cases is a resistance band: https://kidney.org.au/cms_uploads/do...ual--final.pdf
You'll find a number that help with the tailbone pain.

Lastly, allow me to say I genuinely understand what you are going through. Sure, an increasing number of people are finding themselves dealing with kidney issues these days but that does not wash away the fact that it is an extremely distressing affair. The word dialysis alone changed my family as I knew it, so I understand first hand how disruptive it can be.

Godspeed jambo101.

I once had a long hairline fracture in my lower back and had a lot of pain sitting and standing up. Once standing, it was pretty good. The thing that really relieved the pain was taking the pressure entirely off my back by stretching. I would stand between 2 counter tops and support myself with my arms and let my feet dangle. This really helped it and relieved the pressure and pain. Had to wear a brace and it eventually healed.

I use Move Free Ultra and it seems to help with knee pain and other joint pain. Might try it but would need to verify with the dr. first that it is okay to take for you.
