I am a scientist who works on abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs) and would like to develop a platform (or smartphone based app) which can help AAA patients to monitor the status of their AAA and assess their risk of rupture at any time while at home. We think that this app can be helpful especially to patients with small AAAs who are advised to visit the hospital only every 6 months or 1 year to follow up. These patients usually do not know what is going on with their AAAs unless they take CAT scans at the hospital. The main aim of this app is to reduce the anxiety among patients during the surveillance period and to alert them if they need to see the doctor before the next appointment date.
So, as a AAA patient, please let me know if this app would be of real help to you. We would like to know if this app would solve a real problem that patients face.
