The other day the dizziness got very severe and I decided to concentrate very very hard on keeping my eyes focused on one point. I did this and the sense of movement and dizziness got better but it was a real struggle trying to keep my eyes focused on the one point and it was hard to keep my head steady.
The weird thing also was that as I tried to keep my gaze on one point and keep my head steady, severe tension built up within the muscles in my left jaw and my jaw began to clench. The longer I concentrated on focusing my eyes, the more pain built up in my left jaw and I also felt that my jaw moved considerably toward the left side. My bite was completely different and when I tried to open my mouth there was pain in the left side of my jaw.
My questions here are... could a form of TMJ be causing my dizziness by affecting my eye function? Has anyone ever had something similar happen?
Thank you!

Consider that the jaw pain was created by muscle tension. What do people do when they get overly focused and tense? Clench their teeth. The more intensely you tried to focus and keep your head steady the more you tightened muscles in your jaw and face. Maybe you do this anyway, just a habit you are not aware of most of the time. Muscles get tired, especially when they are made to do something unusual. Part of treatment for TMJ is physical therapy and relaxation technique involving jaw, neck, scalp, even shoulders. This doesn't mean you have TMJ itself, just that your symptoms are similar.
