Oh being an MD he would not put any blame on any of the drugs?

Could be depending on one's constitution, but never been the case in my life of taking Atenolol for probably 15 yrs give or take. The sites I read talked about the opposite, I guess if I look up the drug and diarrhea I get hits. We can just find info one way or the other on so much.

Being an MD he is likely addressing one of the more common causes or contributors to constipation.

Of course, many of my patients had meds switched because of side effects. Your dislike for the medical profession has gone too far

Why would you say or think that? I said that his recommendation is " if you're constipated, first thing to do is drink more water."

I didn't say that he wouldn't blame drugs or anything about that at all! He is not a fan of big pharma, or anything like that at all. He's very open minded and the main thing he does is to listen to his patients and go from there.

What do you have against a doctor whose first recommendation is to drink water? As Mike mentioned, it seems as if your dislike for the medical profession has gone too far - you're now criticizing a doctor who says to drink water? How bizarre.

Oh it's great how words are put in other's mouths. I don't have anything against a doctor telling a patient to drink more water, but the doc knows or should know the side effects of the drugs they prescribe and many mess with our bowels. And then often another drug is prescribed to counter act what the original one is causing. A vicious cycle....that's why I try to steer clear as best I know how to.

And Mike my dislike for your medicine is about the same for your's of my type medicine I choose.....You've done a good job of posting links that would discredit nutritional supplements. Many I've ignored.

And you all seem to forget conveniently I do use several of your drugs.

Vrexy: I believe you say you are an MD is that the same you would say? Drink more water.
Or maybe it's another member with a similar username.

I've suffered from constipation all my life, but no longer. I mix a heaping teaspoon of Miralax in my morning coffee and I can honestly say I don't have this problem anymore. Regular as clockwork almost every day.

Maybe not the healthiest way to fix this problem, but at 67 yrs old I'm not worried about a Miralax addiction. I do also try to drink a lot of water.
