I would gargle with warm salt water, and drink echinacea tea to boost my immune system.

My doctor told me to eat activia yogurt twice daily. I’d had a sore throat for months after a case of White thrush. It went away in a week.

My mom’s strange remedy (it works): Take a soft cloth & fold it neatly (cloth diapers work well) & wrap it around your neck. Secure it with diaper pins & leave it on while you are home & asleep over night.

I suppose it keeps the neck warm & increases blood flow to your throat and glands; thereby helping with healing. I had chronic strep as a child, I spent many nights with a diaper around my neck, including the great big diaper pins with the yellow ducks on them!

Dr. Tichnor's Antiseptic mouthwash straight up (no diluting). Do your brushing routine as usual (because if you just swig this with out getting your mouth prepared, you won't be able to do this) , then take a capful, tilt your head back and gargle to the slow count of 10. Spit out and rinse. Brush your teeth again (you don't want this just sitting in your mouth - makes your gums numb)- sore throat gone - any bacteria obliterated. Dr. Tichnor's straight up is intense. Check out the reviews on Amazon to get the scoop. This is an old school antiseptic used for skin diseases, mouth issues, and was once used to clean areas for surgery.

When I was a kid I was sick all of the time and that is what my doctor always told me to do. It worked the best.

Sinus rinse/neti pot will help if the issue is postnasal drip causing throat pain. That is usually my issue when I have coughing/sinus problems.

When I was a kid it was a small glass of water with honey in it. But if you have a very bad sore throat and have already tried things, it's doctor time.
