Before I spend money on something useless, who has used something like Salonpas.
In this case, for lower back pain of the rather common 'old age' reason...deteriorating discs and scoliosis.
It's not constant but when bending slightly and more important, when walking.
My mom uses those all the time. She says they help.
I used to use the bigger ones when I injured my lower back trying to keep my dad from running out into traffic, when his dementia had gotten really bad but my mom still insisted on taking him everywhere. They didn't do much for that kind of injury, and I always ended up having to go to the doctor instead.
I use salon pas lidocaine patches for nerve pain and they do help. Bio freeze helps my husband with his back issues too.
I use both but the patches only help for a short period of time and if, they are being used on the back it is a bid tricky to try and put them on yourself; Even when someone does them for you it is a bit tricky. As for biofreeze I swear by it. I keep a bottle of roll on by my night stand. If my fingers start to hurt in the middle of he night I roll a little on and the pain goes away almost before I finish rolling it This is true with my knee as well.
