Three times; twice giving birth and once for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. When I had food poisoning in my 60's,I went to a a Urgent Care Center. I am 71 now.
Been in many a hospital a lot of times for my husband. Does this count?
Three times if we're talking about overnight stays. First time for a concussion and a huge gash in my forehead at 12. The second time for a severe lung infection at 30. The third time was pancreatitis at 36. Quite a few other trips for broken bones and flu that wouldn't go away, and a bee sting when I was 4 or 5.
Your appendix was outpatient?? That’s amazing! I thought they kept everyone overnight.
These days they tend to do many routine abdominal surgeries ( such as appendectomies, hernia repair, gall bladder removal) laparoscopically, and on an outpatient basis. Unless there are complications or the patient is at high risk for complication, then they may do the surgery in the hospital and keep the patient overnight or for as long as needed.
Not like a long time ago. I had my appendix removed when I was 11 ( many eons ago, I'm 72 now), they kept me for a week.
Inpatient has been 6 times: first time was at 11 months for cleft lip surgery; last time was at age 68 for heart attack. Mixed bag of reasons in-between like brain surgery, hysterectomy, abscess surgery, etc.
I'd have rather had another 10 childbirths before age 50 than to have had to endure how bad that Tubal Ligation messed me up & the surgeries that followed.
I'm now 44 & other than being in the hospital for a full month as a toddler for spinal meningitis w/ a 50/50 chance to live, I've never been back, thank God!
