Several of my relatives work in the healthcare field. They always have bizarre stories about this kind of thing. In the days before all the privacy laws, hospital and doctor's office employees would make photocopies of the medical reports and white out the names and addresses. Ages and details were still visible. Dozens and dozens of copies were distributed to their buddies in other hospitals, etc. By far, the most kinky people all seemed to be in their mid-40's or older. A disturbing amount of the reports were deaths due to people being more adventurous than their cardio-vascular system could tolerate.

That lady didn't share the after math. The norm is be placed on a liquid or soft food diet so as to give the bowels healing time. The pain she will feel during a normal bowel movement may send her back to the hospital.
Rupturing the intestines is not pleasant.

All I keep thinking is some how the energizer bunny will market this incident.

Except a man can pull out his member. Inserting a foreign object is different. That's why there is more danger. I shouldn't even have to explain the difference.

Sadly, I don't think she learned her lesson. I wonder why people need to do these bizarre things to get off.

All kidding aside, I agree with you. I admire her willingness to come forward and share this personal story in an effort to raise awareness, because there are a lot of people who engage in these activities, and they can have some pretty serious health consequences.

Not Facebook, a newspaper. She was brave enough to share her misfortune in order to help others:

From the article linked in the OP:

Quote:
Phillips took to Facebook to share her story. “When a bit of Saturday morning playtime results in spending the day in Wrexham hospital having a nice pink [adult toy] surgically removed from your bowel areas…. whilst it’s still vibrating,” she wrote. “If you can’t on a Saturday when can ya?”

She has a great sense of humor about it, I'll say that much.

I'm not surprised she ended up in the OR. The foreign object often forms a seal with the rectal wall, which means that even if you get a grip on the object it may not come out easily. Leaving it in is not an option either as the wall (composed of five layers) may start delaminating. Then you have an even bigger problem.

My PCP has had a lot of experience with this, so before you ask, that's how I know.
