i can identify with the part about statins. they made me feel like a zombie.
Quote:
“Patient Five” was in his late 50s when a trip to the doctors changed his life.

He had diabetes, and he had signed up for a study to see if taking a “statin” – a kind of cholesterol-lowering drug – might help. So far, so normal.

But soon after he began the treatment, his wife began to notice a sinister transformation. A previously reasonable man, he became explosively angry and – out of nowhere – developed a tendency for road rage. During one memorable episode, he warned his family to keep away, lest he put them in hospital.
...

Ironically, by this point the patient was so cantankerous that he flatly ignored the doctors’ advice. “He swore roundly, stormed out of the office and stopped taking the drug immediately,” she says. Two weeks later, he had his personality back.

Neuropsychiatric ADRs of statins, including suicide and aggression, have been reported in pharmacovigilance databases [20, 25] and in adverse event reports and series [18, 19, 26]. Moreover, adverse behaviors have been reported in settings of low cholesterol [27–29]; and of lower omega-3 fatty acid levels (the omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is reportedly reduced with statins) [30–32].

I don't think those posters are referring to the content of your post as nonsense, OP. I think they are referring to the fact that this issue has been covered in several threads. As an example (and I know there was a longer one sometime in the Spring or summer, but I can't find it off the top of my head):

it's difficult to interpret 'nonsense' as meaning anything other than nonsense.

i looked for threads on psychotropic effects of statins and didn't see anything.

Diabetes should be treated through diet not through drugs. You can reverse diabetes by fixing the underlying cause if you are type 2. Type 1 not so simple, many skinny people are of this type.
