And we're not done yet with either. The numbers speak for themselves.

There are A LOT of issues regarding reporting of deaths from/with COVID and deaths from/with influenza. Cases are underreported, overreported, and not reported at all.
If you die of advanced lung cancer after testing positive for COVID, are you a COVID death or not? What about advanced lung cancer + influenza? If you were already terminal, how does someone decide whether another disease pushed you over the edge, or you were going to go anyway?
These questions do not have easy or consistent answers and I take all of the numbers with a huge grain of salt.

You're welcome, rood, gardener. I wanted to see for myself, so I did a little study.
sailbot...salt or no salt, these are the numbers we have to work with. The flu numbers are without social distancing....the covid numbers are with it. That's important. What would/will it be without the rules? Much worse I imagine.
And as of this post, we've now toppled 40k dead.

Right now CDC is not a reliable source. From the agency that told people not to wear face masks to begin with. They are responsible probably for 50% of the deaths so far when they tell people not to wear any protection. Not to mention issuing bad guidance to hospitals. Many hospitals took their guidance initially and forced many workers to not wear any PPE in March. Many workers quit if they were told to take off their PPEs. What kind of agency tells hospital workers that it's safe to treat COVID19 patients not to wear PPEs?
Plus the data is completely flawed, we don't even know for sure how many people died of flu vs COVID19.

Please elaborate.

I'm not happy with the CDC either...believe me. But past flu numbers? That seems to be fairly accurate...and that information is from them. The covid deaths (clearly way less than actual) number is all we've got. Got a better source for the number of covid deaths then the link I used? We'd like to see it.
But do quote from it, please.

See, I disagree that the stated COVID deaths are "way less than actual." It's not just me; many people believe they are "way more than actual" and have been inflated by including deaths "with" COVID along with deaths "from" COVID.
