CDC says this, CDC says that, right now I am not sure they really even have any ideas that are solidly backed up with complete and accurate information. Even when it comes to the number of deaths, we can not be sure how many deaths are really the result of COVID and how many might be caused by something else and listed as the virus because the individual did have it. Next week CDC might tell us, that wearing masks are bed not good for us or the more we expose ourselves to COVID the more we can build up a natural immunity. No one knows what they will tell us next.

But that is how science works. This is a new virus--there isn't any "complete and accurate" information right now. Scientists are researching and looking at the data every single day, and their findings and recommendations will change as they expand their knowledge and look at more data.

Yes, but you understand that the problem for the general population when recommendations change from week to week and sometimes from day to day, is that people have a hard time keeping up. They remember only what they were first told, or they choose the one bit of advice that appeals to them most (whether that is "Sanitize every surface!" or "Masks are not necessary!") and thereafter resist changing their ways.
From there it is not a huge leap to "That organization doesn't really know what they are talking about, so I will just ignore them."
Not only that, with a new coronavirus like this one, it is anyone's guess as to how it will mutate or evolve going forward. Viruses are smart, they are programmed to modify their characteristics to be more effective at replication. It is way too early to know whether that is a significant risk with this one. So why would anyone not want to take simple basic precautions, like wearing PPE?
I agree. I was one of those dummies who did not wear a mask in the very beginning of this virus when shopping or out. Then I saw more and more people with them and realized I was being inconsiderate of others (and myself) by not wearing one. Now, I wear one every time I am somewhere where other people are.
It really is not that hard or inconvenient, just slip the thing on and show others you care about your health and their health.

I've said this before, I don't trust them as far as I could throw them. They are very well paid in cushy positions for lifetimes. There is an issue I've battled for years and just because the CDC stamps approval, it's OK, not so in my mind and many others fighting the battle. With age, I question it all.

And yes, continue to breath in the stale breath. And don't open up your lungs.

That is utter BS. When I paint a car, I wear a mask. When medical people are in the operating room, they wear masks. When people are using a sander that makes dust, they wear masks. You suck in enough clean air that you are not suffocating , for God's sake !
