Dr. Marik is suing Sentara:

Paul Marik, MD, one of the most highly published critical care physicians in the world and the Director of the ICU at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, was recently told by Sentara Healthcare that he could no longer administer a range of highly effective COVID-19 treatments to critically ill patients

This retraction was initiated because Sentara contacted the journal. Obviously, seems to be related to lawsuit, and their decision to disallow the MATH+ protocol.

One thing I want to know, if they don't want patients treated with the MATH+ do they have another protocol that works better?

If they don't, then this is clearly politically motivated.

The problem is that this isn't the first time this has happened. He's had other papers retracted in the past and has been caught doing other unethical behaviors such as plagiarism.
