If you tell the food pantry that you are living in a room without cooking facilities, they should help you with easy meals. That's what we do at the one I volunteer at. Beef stew in a can, pre-cooked sausages, microwave meals. We can even supply basic utensils and a can opener.

Mini crock pot. You can leave it on in the morning and come back fro a full meal at dinner time. $14

https://www.walmart.com/ip/21554260.
Put in brown rice, quinoa, millet - any whole grain (most nutrition, and cheap) Add an onion and herbs for flavors. Add veggies 15 minutes before you want to eat. Add cheese, meat, whatever. Cheap cheap cheap.

Hot pot $15 Really fast - boil water, egg, ramen noodles, soup:

Peanut butter sandwiches on whole wheat bread.
Black bean chili.

Both are tasty, calorically dense, and inexpensive.

1) Aldis
2) See if your fellow renters want to pitch in on something or if you can bum a ride when they go to the store. Maybe you can help them in some way in exchange.
3) Walk.

There are a lot of low-power cooking-devices that are safe to use in a room.

Ditch the high-cost junkfood and cook your own food.

If you have no way of warming anything (no microwave, no hotpot, no hotplate), you can still get adequate calories. Peanut butter is a very high calorie food - it's what they use for starving children in the third world. Peanut butter on 100% whole wheat bread if you can get it, otherwise whatever bread you can get. Canned sardines/tuna/salmon. Canned fruit. Fresh apples, pears, oranges - they'll all keep for a few days. Fresh green beans and fresh romaine lettuce and fresh spinach can be eaten raw for nutrition. Take a multivitamin with iron every day to fill in the nutrients you may be missing out on. If you decide to eat fast food, if there's a chipotle's or something like that - where they put together food with meat, vegetables, and grain - choose that.

Carbohydrates will help you gain weight and are generally not expensive, getting them cooked in your bedroom is your puzzle to solve. I remember one Andy Griffith Show where Barney Fife had the same dilemma, so you aren't the first.

What about getting a bread-making machine? There are so many different breads you could make inexpensively. Put ingredients in and push the button, voila bread.

If you really can't cook in your room look for interesting carbs for a grocery delivery, bread, muffins, cookies, there is instant rice and cup-a-soup if you buy a little plug-in pot to heat up water (inexpensive). Oil is also a healthy way to add calories, eating a tablespoon of olive oil with a slice of bread is good for you. Buy a bottle of olive oil and keep on hand to add to a lot of things even smoothies.

Think about it as a dorm room situation. Get a little dorm fridge ($50) to keep things cold (butter, milk, eggs) and go from there.

Have you applied for food stamps? Even though you work you may be eligible. Food stamps are there for these very situations .
