I am a young male with a Lung Disease. I live in NE Pennsylvania. The constant weather changes here are killing me. Mostly the cold and rainy springs and the early winters when it is just getting in the low 30s and slush and rainy. The hot summers dont bother me too much but I am not sure about humidity. I was in Orlando for 2 weeks in february and I felt incredible. Then it was 80-85 with seemingly no humidity. I am not sure how the summers go. My doctor said the ocean would be good for me but I'll bet it can be expensive. Everyone says oh arizona will be good but I am not moving to the other side of the US. I will never be able to afford to visit home. Let me know if you are going through the same deal or if you already have. Thanks.

Don't feel alone, I work for a clinic and this time of year is horrible for people especially those with current allergies or diseased lungs. The best thing you can do for yourself honestly? Change climates if you can. This will seem funny to you but it's along the same topic, one of my horses has a lung disease - which mimics asthma in people and I actually have to give him steroid injections this time of year to help him just be comfortable, I'm planning a move down south to a more humid area and am questioning whether or not to take him just because there will be more of this weather than the cooler air - but for you, if you have nothing tying you here and you are going to vastly improve your life and ability to breath, why not consider a big change? By the way I'm originally from FL and February is wonderful but not too much further in the year, you would be miserable, it's all humid all the time, day and night - that's why people don't like it down there who aren't used to it or who haven't grown up in it. When people here complain about humidity, I have to laugh because it's not bad compared to FL. In all reality I guess depending on what kind of lung disease you have, dry air would be good but then again, depending - maybe you do need tons of moisture. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it. And listen, talk about affording, PA is way expensive compared to living down south. Good luck!!
