Cost aside, anyone know if either is better, or about the same? My tap water appears to be not that bad at all, but I have not had it tested. Even if it is classified as "very good" by any test, I still want to keep going with filtration. Can only help. Thoughts?
What do you mean by "best"? If you don't know what's in your tapwater you can't really select a filter that is even capable of removing whatever is there. Some are better at removing particulates of differing sizes and types than others. If it was me, I'd get the water tested. Find out what impurities/particulates are even there and at what concentration. Then select a filter based on how well it will remove the ones you are most concerned about. You can spend a lot of $ trying to remove impurities that aren't even present. Plus, there's no reason to remove everything that isn't H2O. FWIW, if you do a forum search you'll find a very recent thread about a very similar topic.
