I think I may have had it two other times in my life when I was younger, but not that bad. I originally attributed both times to food poisoning because I had just eaten at restaurants. It was more likely norovirus in the foods or on surfaces. It's often mistaken for food poisoning. It's a hardy little bugger being resistant to alcohol and detergents, and there are different strains of it.

I don't doubt that I am more vulnerable to norovirus than other blood types. It may be that I haven't been exposed to it very often.
Yes, I got it frequently when my kids were in daycare. It would be making the rounds and my kids wouldn’t even get sick but I would every darn time. It was awful. Luckily by the time they were in elementary school we were all well seasoned and didn’t get sick as often as we used to.

All four of my grandparents are Rh +. I am a genetic throwback somehow, as DNA confirms that they are my biological family.

Interestingly, an informal poll on the COVID long haulers group is showing that type O's are overwhelmingly having more serious side effects from the COVID vaccine. I wish science would delve more into Rh factor in the research.
That is interesting - my knowledge of genetics is basically limited to high school biology, but I find it fascinating! Thank you.

DH had his second vaccine on Monday and has been very ill with body aches and fatigue for two days. He is O positive.

I can count on one hand the number of times he's been sick in fifty-three years of marriage. So when he says he's ill I believe him.
