Any scientist that would put their name and reputation forward to support a paper that runs counter to the World leadership narrative would effective remove themselves from any opportunity to drink from the funding spigot, regardless of how solid the study may be.
And this is why you need the whole human population around the world with herd immunity. You leave some areas for the virus to multiply and mutate, you can eventually get a variant that the vaccines dont protect against. So you get a rinse and repeat. So far the vaccines are just bit less effective on worst variants.
The problem is great resistance to reality of covid by significant percentage of population based on politics. They see it as their right to participate in promoting a pandemic and bring end of humans on the planet I guess. Too bad its not just those individuals getting the Darwin Award.

Nothing really new there. The South African variant gained early notoriety based on the potential impact of efficacy "brake through" and infectivity rates.
South Africa has a high HIV infection rate which renders a highly susceptible group of people for creating mutants because of the protracted course of infection.
Break through need not mean that more deaths can occur in those vaccinated. In this case so far it simply means more illness. Hopefully there will be continued no deaths in those vaccinated.
Has anyone read where it was race specific, or just affected more of one race vs. another?

After all.. Antibiotics fuel antibiotic resistant bacteria. And, most bacterial infections aren't fatal. Unpleasant, yes.. but rarely fatal.

There is no such thing as "Vaccinated" herd immunity. It is just herd immunity, period. Anyone who is immune contributes to it, whether by having had the disease or by being vaccinated.
The "8 times higher" only refers to a study of 400 vaccinated and 400 unvaccinated people, all infected with the coronavirus. It does not include the entire vaccinated population, so your claim is a distortion of what the figure you are using means.
The South African variant accounts for about 1% of Israeli cases. Most of their cases are the UK variant, for which the vaccine still provides good protection. Israel is nearing herd immunity. Cases have dropped to 120 per day with a seven day average of 241 and 4 deaths per day with a seven day average of 8. The vaccination program is working.
It is not the vaccinated folks who will be creating variants because the vaccines do prevent infection. You cannot produce a variant if you are not infected.

That is absolutely ridiculous. You don't see this happening with the flu vaccines and there's no reason to believe the virus will "trump the vaccines for good". What is more likely to happen is, there will be boosters available every year for the virus. COVID-19 will still be around, but there will be a lot of better treatments for it and mortality rates will resemble those we currently see for the flu. COVID-19 isn't a "magic" virus that doesn't behave like any other virus, and we're not living in a Stephen King novel.
