Exactly. No matter how many magic tricks, lopsided diets, potions or pills are out there touted to make the pounds disappear with no effort on the part of the "loser", the bottom line is still input vs. output.

Otherwise no one would be overweight. Me included.

Eat less and keep White Foods to a very minimum. Pills are not the answer.

No, but it will help. I think those things tend to be not processed or less processed, which means less of all the sugar, etc. that goes with it. Those things also tend to be more nutritionally dense. Both of those things tend to make people less hungry.

I don't think it even helps because there's no data that shows it does.

Look at potatoes for example. One of the most satiating carbohydrates out there. Are any wheat free foods more satiating than potatoes?

They aren't identical carbohydrates. Eating wheat stimulates appetite and causes overall calorie consumption to rise, whereas other whole grains are far more satiating causing less consumption of calories.

I've worked on going gluten free, but am not a virgin but do my best to avoid gluten. I hear an MD who says gluten is the big evil to most health issues. And I decided to NOT bring any bread into my house well over 10 yrs ago and love my choice. And that includes bagels, muffins, donuts, boxes of cookies, and now and then I may give in to a cookie my daughter seems to think I need, but otherwise, if it's not in the house, it won't go in my gut.

And not being able to walk good does not help but I'm not gaining weight.

More satiating than potatoes? Boiled potatoes are probably the most satiating food out there no different than eating wheat free foods..
